Frances Townsend Career Path Over The Years
Frances F. Townsend serves at the office of Corporate Affairs and has been the current Vice at Activation Blizzard since 2020 December. Ms. Townsend worked previously at MacAndrews & Forbes Inc. from October 2010 to 2020. Before her departure, she was also a General Counsel, Vice-Chairperson, and THE Chief Administration Officer at a diversified holding company.
She was also a partner at Baker Botts from April 2009 to 2010 October. Before this post, she served under President George Bush as the Assistant for Counterterrorism and Homeland Security as she chaired the Homeland Security Councils from 2004 to 2008. Townsend was also the Deputy Assistant to the Deputy National Security Advisor.
Before working with former President Bush, Ms. Townsend worked with the coast guard for 13 years. She was the Assistant Commandant for intelligence at the Department of Justice in different senior positions. She is a council member of the Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission. Ms. Townsend also served as Freeport-McRoran Inc’s director. For the past five years, she has been a director in other companies such as SciPlay, Scientific Games Corp, and the Western Union.
Ms. Townsend joins the board with good experience in governance, regulations, experience in policymaking, and legal matters. Ms. Townsend has a solid international and domestic affairs foundation, strategic planning, risk management, security challenges, and intelligence.
She also holds experience in leadership from her previous job posts in and out of government. Her board experience also contributes to her as a suitable candidate for any director position she is given.
Additionally, she is a trusted member of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the Atlantic Council, the Intrepid Sea, the McCain Institute, the Air and Space Museum, and the New York City Police Foundation. She is also part of the Aspen Strategy Group.
